what does it mean to be human in the 21st century?”
Fifth disability studies conference
We all experience the rapid development of biotechnology, but neither the bioethical nor the Disability Studies related questions of this issue are part of the scientific discourse. Does a technology driven society promote the release of persons with disabilities from the normative framework? Is it true that in the public mind, non-normal, radically different bodies cause anxiety, body curing and enhancing ambitions? The question of sexuality and disabilities is also part of the discussion. We examine the topics discussed above from an interdisciplinary, theoretical, practical and artistic point of view, based on scientific research, developments or personal narratives.
